Cubs Playoff Tickets!!!

For one day I have a bunch of Cubs playoff tickets.  Tomorrow I have to give most of them away to the guys I have my season tickets with.

 If you are in Wrigley for NLDS game 1, I'll be up in section 431 row 4.  Come by and say hi!

Yankee Stadium Memory

I'm not a Yankees fan but I always liked going to the Stadium.  I am a Mets fan, but Shea is a real hole compared to Yankee Stadium.

In 1986, my high school marching band got to play the national anthem for opening day at Yankee Stadium.  I played trombone in the band.  It was really cool, the outfield had the nicest grass I'd ever been on.  I had never done anything in front of 50,000 people before.  We got to watch the game from the bleachers.

The previous year we got to play our halftime show at a Jets game at Shea, and the biggest memory I have of that was the creaky temporary seats we watched the game on waiting for halftime.  I think they made us leave after we finished the halftime show which sucked.

Cubs Clinch!!

We went to the Cubs game today & got to see them clinch the NL Central.  I took a bunch of pictures (253 in total) and here are some of the better ones.  Click on the pictures to see them larger.

The Cubs invited this 104 year old man to throw out a ceremonial pitch before the game.

Vince Vaughn also threw out a first pitch.

 Even the Cubs players want to get their picture taken with Vince.

The Cubs came back out of the locker room to shower each other and some of the fans with Champagne.

This is probably my favorite picture of the bunch I took after the game.

The next game that matters will be on October 1.  I'll be there too!

Technical details: I took all of the photos with my Canon 20D camera and a 55-250mm IS lens.  I converted the pictures to JPGs and shrunk them a little using Adobe Lightroom 2.0, which I highly recommend for any avid photographer.
