So, we saw Lyle Lovett at Ravinia last night. Great show, they played for over two hours and he has one of the best bands out there. Ravinia is a "barn", there is a 3200 seat pavilion area and a huge lawn that seats somewhere around 15000. For non-classical shows, like this one, the lawn is a big party where listening to the music is less important than drinking (which is generally ok by me) and talking with your friends (which is annoying). For classical shows they make the people on the lawn shut up when the orchestra is playing.
Anyway, about an hour and a half into the show, these two Trixies sit down in front of us. They were probably half in the bag and immediately started talking during the show. It just annoyed the heck out of me. The old couple sitting next to them was unhappy as well. They sat there and talked and checked their text messages for 15 minutes and then in the middle of a song they got up and (I guess) went back to the lawn to drink more.
