Instapundit pushed me to this amazing story in Fast Company about Wal-Mart's upcoming push to have everyone in America buy at least one compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb to replace an incandescent bulb.
If they are successful, it will eventually reduce their profits, because CFL bulbs last around 8 years, vs. less than a year for regular bulbs. G.E. Is claiming that each CFL bulb saves $38 in energy compared to using regular bulbs.
