Major Update Feb 3, 2009: Coke has dramatically reduced the number of points we can enter in a week. It went down from 700 points to 120 point per week.
See my new post for details!!!!!
I am addicted to mycokerewards.com points. I have been collecting them since the promotion started. I was even dumb enough to buy 100 caps off EBay. Points are worth around $0.10 each. As of June 7, I have 478 points.
So I am really annoyed that Coke has taken away some of the best things on the site. For 640 points you could get 24 coupons for free 12 packs of soda. They took that away. Also, they had a PSP for around 1500 points that is now gone.
Instead they now have some unobtainable prizes.
The contest started on February 28 and runs to the end of the year. That is approximately 300 days to enter codes. You can only enter 10 codes a day. Codes on 12 packs of soda are worth 10 points (bottle caps are worth 3). So, best case, you can enter 100 points a day. Times 300 days, and you get a maximum of 30000 points. Realistically, there is no way anyone is going to have more than 10000 points, and they will be people who fill soda machines for a living using 12 packs of Coke so the last thing they want is more stuff with the Coke logo on it.
Now look at the last two pages of the prize list. There are a bunch of prizes that are more than 30000 points. Why do they have them on the list? The sofa from American Idol is 56000 points. The hood from Kyle Petty's car is 40000 points.
It isn't like you can buy points either. This is just another stupid marketing exercise, and they suckered me in to it.
I'll keep collecting my points for the rest of the year, (I want this minifridge) but I won't be buying any more caps off EBay.
UPDATE: It looks like Coke listened & got rid of or reduced the number of points needed for all of the prizes over 30000 points. The new maximum is "only" 26000 points, which isn't very plausible to obtain but at least it is theoretically possible to get then many points. On the down side, all of the prizes that you really might want have mostly gone away. Although the air hockey table is pretty sweet.
ya does anyone here have some codes to give out cause im new i ve been loking for like 10 codes to get 100 points and dis you guys see new furni thats what i need here a code to use on mcr 10008 03925 14475

Hi! Came upon this site surfing.....I belong to Freecycle.Org and ppl have been asking for the box codes and caps constantly.....As we are not soda drinkers but were willing to help, we found quite a few box codes still attached to boxes on recycle day....Also recycle bins that have the coke bottles with caps on them.....Out of curiousity we asked a local bottle redemption center if they would mind saving the caps for us....In one week, we went back and were given 350 caps.....Just a suggestion and food for thought but those of you seeking more points,,,stop by redemption centers you frequent and I am sure they will help.......Unfortunately the caps we got are already spoken for....

As an object lesson in corporate fraud(all legal of course)for my daughter, we both began the registration process, entering of cap codes, and then being allowed to preview the prize area. My daughter, after doing the math exclaimed, "what a diaper load this is". It's not even worth it for a 13 yr. old to waste their time on. I can't imagine buying the amount of coke it would take to cash in for something worthwhile. She figured she could make more by doing some of the neighborhood chores (dog walking-bathing-trimming) she's done in the past. Really, what a diaper load!! I think it about sums up corporate America's attitude towards the carbonate guzzling population of America. lol

What ever happened to the FREE COKE bottle caps?? Wouldn't wast my time on points!! I used to collect marlboro miles, at first they had great stuff, but after time went on the prizes got cheap (with high points)and I decided my health wasn't worth it,so I quit on May 14th 2004, never to do it again!!!

For those of you who need more caps, try looking in recycle bins and trash cans, There are usually some empty coke bottles or 12 packs floating on the top. It's a little dirty sometimes, but it works. Why drink and waste your money on coke when you can have other people do it for you? I have a little over 3000 points, and most of it wasn't by drinking.

Well I have to agree somewhat...I have won many many prizes already but I do find it a joke...Prizes to date include Sony PSP, coke Cooziesx4, 2 magazines, 200 bucks in sony gift cards, american idol coke cup, and currently have 4200 points and ready to get something else...I have been w8ing for another PSP to come along but dont think its going to happen...When the game first started you could get a 10 buck Sony gift card for 80 points..That has changed..A 200 buck card is now 4000 points...So you do the math...They make alot of great prizes way out of reach...I work in a Hospital and gather my points by everyone I know saving there caps...I enter in the max amount of caps everyday for about 1 1/2 years now and still have bags of caps I need to enter...It would be nice to have one day when you can enter all the caps you have without a limit...Another scam is the double points day...As stated doing this for about 1 1/2 years and only seen one double point cap day...

I don't see what everyone is complaining about. Coke doesn't have to give away anything at all! I buy the same number of Cokes as I always have, enter the codes, and have gotten four free magazine subscriptions (to magazines I normally would have subscribed to anyway) - saved me over $50.00. So many of you seem so greedy - why do you seem to think you're "entitled" to big, wonderful rewards - anything you get free is FREE!!!

I found this site tonight through google search which I went to because my link is not working. This is the same link I have used since starting this code entering craze. I must admit that my only complaint is the large amount of points to win the better prizes. I have redeemed many points for a PS2, Sony dvd player, 2)100.00 Blockbuster gift cards, numerouse subscriptions and lots of Blockbuster coupons for my annualEaster egg hunt. Needless to say I am a heavy diet coke drinker and this contest will not change that. I do not feel taken advantage of as I understood that I would be taking my time to enter these codes. Here is a quick hint for all grandparents for help with the codes -- just have one of the grandsons operate your mouse and you enter codes -- lol its so much easier!!! Good luck everyone on getting the reward you are working to get.

Okay, honestly who cares about the math of how many points you can get per day, etc...since the beginning of mycokerewards I have gotten an air hockey table for my niece and nephew, a single disc Sony DVD player that is great, an Adidas duffel bag, and warm up pants. When I saw the big rewards (my favorite was a reward that is a dream of mine...spring training with the Red Sox) but even though I knew I wouldn't ever be able to get that many points it didn't matter because at first it was fun to try and I ended up seeing quite a few things that I wanted and I did get a lot. I can understand your frustation that you won't be able to get the rewards you REALLY want and by the way if you think about the money you would spend on coke to get the rewards, think about the money you would have to spend on the things you actually get. I know that DVD players aren't even close to as expensive as they used to be but considering my financial situation, entering codes for my coke rewards was a lot cheaper than the DVD player I received. And i think it's fun...if you don't want to do it then don't...

For the ppl that dont have this advantage….IT IS NOT WORTH IT! Drink water …don’t even support this nonsense. Oh and greg its not prohibited since my father pays for all of the cases...(since i know ur the coke police)

For two days I haven't been able to log onto the rewards site to enter points - the link that I've used for months now (had it as one of my favorites) hasn't worked and when I google "my coke rewards" and get the main site, when I enter my e-mail and password it recognizes me, shows my correct points, and then the screen changes to the sign-up screen (for new people who have never registered before). I'm so frustrated!!! Is this happening to anyone else?
Posted by: Lindsey O'Connor | April 18, 2007 at 08:55 AM
My only problem is that my coke rewards has a ten code entry per day! I to don't drink any more coke. I have access to hundreds of unused discarded coke caps. To date I have got a Kodak Calendar, special edition coke bottle, baseball hat, and Athletic bag. I still have almost 5,000 points. Going for a flat screen tv, Dooney & bourke bag, digital camera, or a movie camera.

Just got the e-mail from coke about the "new and improved site" - went there - everything looks very pretty; however, when I viewed the magazines the only thing that was "new" was that they have increased the points needed to get the subscriptions. I don't deny them the right to change the point values; however, it is somewhat deceptive to bill this as a "new and improved" site giving us things we "asked for" when what they're really doing is making things more expensive.
