I have a new bad habit. I just signed up for tradesports. I found something that seems like easy money. No, really.
Tradesports is basically an options market for all sorts of stuff. It is mostly sports-related (not surprising considering the name) but there are other interesting things as well.
Like gambling on how many votes Alito is going to get in the Senate. Right now the 70+ votes contract is at 35. This means that each contract costs $3.50 to buy and if Alito gets 70 or more votes, the contract pays out $10. What's great is this isn't like Vegas, I can sell the contract whenever I want. If it falls I can cut my losses and (hopefully) if it shoots up to 85 or 90 I can sell it and take my profits.
I figure that if John Roberts got 78 votes, Alito will do at least that well. I'm considering the 80 contract as well, it is currently at 9.
In case you are wondering there is very little money at stake here. It's just for fun.
I just wish I would have had an account before Scooter got indicted.
UPDATE: Yeah, I really blew that one huh? I didn't think the Democrats would waste their political capital on Alito. Learned a valuable lesson. On a positive note, I did win on the Canadian elections.
